OUR HISTORY

GenerAds application and company have been created by Jean-François Pen, who is the company's top manager. Prior to launching GenerAds, Jean-François had obtained with his past experiences a certain expertness in PPC.

After he got his international business degree, Jeff, as we call him, came to London in 2002. He started to work for Affiliate Window (Awin), firtsly central to the commercial team. At this moment, Awin sells a technical solution and an affiliate database, but doesn't propose affiliate programs management to its clients. Jeff's involvment, as well as his ability to give high importance to its clients, conduce Awin president, Kevin Brown, to give him free hand to build a service to manage affiliate programs.

Unfortunately for Affiliate Window, Jeff then discovered Adwords and thought he could use it to make advertising for Awin merchants. This is how he left Awin to create Y commerce Ltd (Ycom) with his friend Antoine Aubrée. Their idea is simple but new : as they don't have technical abilities to creat their own website, they decide to use Google to bring internet users directly on the websites of all the advertisers who have an affiliate program. So Ycom pays Google and optimizes Adwords campaigns in place of its clients. Clients only pay a small commission on sales brought by Ycom.

Advertisers have nothing to lose with this system, so they suscribe in-crowd! Quickly, Ycom became Awin's largest affiliate. Kevin brown is even going to propose Jeff to create a subsidiary in France, which he refused. A year after Ycom's creation, thanks to its director's talent, the company will be Ebay's largest affiliate in Europe!

As he was creating Adwords campaigns manually, for clients such as Ebay, Jeff noticed there didn't exist any efficient tool for SEM in the market. No company was offering a solution to convert a product catalog into an Adwords campaign, while taking into account the catalog's movements and Adwords editorial rules. Jeff thought a software allowing anyone to do this would be something revolutionary for SEM professionals...

After three years spent to develop a complete, ergonomic and powerful web-application, GenerAds appeared in the market at the beginning of 2010. Advertisers and agencies rapidly adhere to the concept. Indeed, GenerAds' distribution will be a real success : barely 6 months after its launching, the application is already used by about twenty companies.
